The story of ARRS begins with A.R.R. Rangaswami Chettiar, a skilled weaver from Salem, who laid the foundation by working closely with traditional weaving communities. This early connection built a deep understanding of quality fabrics, craftsmanship, and trust — the inheritance every generation since has carried forward.

The legacy was strengthened by Dr. A.R.R. Srinivasan, who formally established the business in 1979. He expanded into wholesale textile trading, building strong networks across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala. This phase established ARRS as a reliable and respected name in the textile industry, long before the family ever opened a retail door.

A major turning point came when Mr. S. Ravichandran stepped in with a bold vision. On August 1, 2000, he launched the first ARRS Silks retail showroom in Salem, marking the brand’s transition from wholesale to direct customer retail.

Under his leadership, ARRS Silks became one of the first mega saree showrooms in Salem, spanning over 50,000 sq. ft. in the old bazaar streets. This was not just a store — it became a destination for families, offering a wide variety of sarees under one roof, transparent pricing, and a trusted shopping experience that quickly set the brand apart.

With growing customer trust, ARRS expanded into Namakkal, Hosur, and continued growing in Salem — building a strong reputation for quality and consistency, affordable pricing, and customer-first service. It became a go-to destination for weddings and special occasions across the region.

This trust has been built through honesty, reliability, and consistent value — and a quiet commitment to the artisans behind every drape. ARRS continues to maintain strong relationships with skilled weavers, ensuring authentic craftsmanship, fair value for artisans, and genuine quality products. Every saree reflects heritage, skill, and tradition.

From 2017 onwards, the brand has focused on improving customer experience, expanding product variety, and strengthening operations — while staying true to the core values that defined it from the beginning.

Today, ARRS Silks stands as a trusted name with seventy years of textile heritage, twenty-five years of retail excellence, and multiple showrooms across Tamil Nadu. With the launch of online shopping, ARRS now brings its trusted collections to customers beyond store locations — carrying the same conviction it began with: that authentic craft belongs in every home.
